Addendum on Ignica services

Regarding the offering of Ignica services (Services listed on [Service]  hereinafter referred to as “these services”) managed by United Super Markets Holdings Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “our company”) to our customers and partners (hereinafter referred to as “customers, etc.”), the addendum for our policy on handling our customers’ private information (hereinafter referred to as “this policy”) is listed below.
This policy applies to all information handled by our company that can directly or indirectly identify our customers as individuals (Hereinafter referred to as “personal information”).  

  1. Acquisition of personal information
  2. Our company will acquire personal information in the following cases:
    1. When customers, etc. enter information through electronic
    2. device operation. 
    3. When provided directly by customers, etc. or through a medium
    4. such as a document
    5. When the information is sent automatically in connection with
    6. the use or viewing of the services, products, advertisements, or contents (hereinafter collectively referred to as "services, etc." (※1)) by customers, etc.

      In addition, regardless of whether or not it is considered as personal information, we will acquire the following information regarding the use of this service.
      1. Information related to the use and browsing of the Service by the Customer, such as the content of the Service used by the Customer, the date and time of use and the number of times of use, and the Customer's online behavior when using the Service (This includes, but not limited to, cookies information, usage information such as access logs, used device information, location information, IP address, browser information, browser languages, etc.)

    2. To respond to inquiries from customers, etc.

      ※4The use stipulated in this section includes the account IDs of customers, etc., IDs of partners, advertising IDs (including but not limited to Advertising Identifier (IDFA) and Google Advertising Identifier (AAID)), cookies, and various other identifiers that are linked, managed and used by our company.
  5. Third party provision
  6. We do not sell customer information to third parties or disclose it in exchange for money or other valuable consideration, but we may provide acquired information to third parties in the following cases:
    1. When our company deems it necessary to provide information regarding these services in order to provide them. 
    2. When our company deems it necessary for the operation and provision of services.
    3. When providing information to delivery companies, subcontractors and other third parties for after-sales services such as payment settlement, response to inquiries from customers, etc., inquiries from our company to customers, etc.  
    4. When requested by court, government agency, competent authorities, or other official body to provide acquired information based on laws and regulations.
    5. When the Company deems it necessary to provide information in order to resolve a dispute with a third party, or to protect the rights and interests of a customer of these services or a third party.
    6. When the Company provides information to  a third party to which the Company entrusts research and analysis in order to research and analyze the usage status of the Service, etc.
    7. When providing information to a third party for the purpose of distributing or displaying advertisements of our company or a third party.
    8. When providing to a third party in order to distribute or display product information within the services provided by our company or a third party
    9. When provided in conjunction with the succession of business due to merger or other reasons.

In addition, when providing the information to a specific party for joint use, to that effect, personal data  to be jointly used, the scope of joint use, the purpose of use, and the name or identity of person who is responsible for the management of the personal data will be notified to the owner of the data or be made easily accessible for the owner of the data.

The Ignica service may share purchase information, including customer email addresses, with Rokt (USA/Singapore), a marketing tool vendor, in order to optimize the user experience of the purchase completion screen and display of advertisements.   7. Method for notice or publication for obtaining consent, method
  8. of requesting suspension of use
    (1)Customers, etc. can request the suspension of collection or use of the whole or a part of information by changing the setting of these services. In that case, our company will swiftly follow our company’s regulations and stop using them. However, depending on the type of information, the use and collection of such information is prerequisite for these service, therefore the collection and use of information can be suspended only when the use of service has been canceled too. 
    (2)Our company uses Cookies to offer these services. If you do not wish to use cookies, you can refuse or allow cookies by changing your browser settings. For information on how to refuse or allow cookies, please check the help screen of your browser. However, please note that if you refuse cookies, you may not be able to use some or all of these  services.
  9. Regarding the security
  10. (1)Our company will properly handle personal information in accordance with laws and regulations regarding the protection of personal information and this policy. In order to properly handle personal information, we will establish internal rules and organizations, and ensure the safety of information systems that process personal information
    (2)When our company entrusts the handling of personal information to a third party, we entrust it to a party that satisfies the selection criteria of our company, conclude a contract with the consignee, and appropriately manage the work of the consignee.  In addition, our company will only provide personal information to third parties who have taken security control measures that meet the standards set by our company.

  12. In providing this service, we may share user information with third parties (including those outside Japan) if necessary. In that case, we will jointly use it after announcing the fact that it will be jointly used, the purpose, the scope of joint use, and the name of the person responsible for joint use.

  15. Procedures for Disclosure, Correction, Deletion, etc. of Personal Information
  16. Our company  will change this policy from time to time according to the need to respond to changes in laws and regulations and business needs. Regarding the request for disclosure, modification and deletion of personal information from customers, please make a request according to the “Disclosure Request Procedures” below.
  17. Correction and suspension of use of personal information
  18. (1)If  customers, etc. request correction of the content of personal information or suspension of use based on the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, our company will first confirm that the request is from the person himself/herself. We will conduct necessary investigations without delay, and based on the results, we will correct the content of personal information or suspend its use, and notify customers to that effect. If we decide not to correct or suspend the use of personal information, we will also notify the customer to that effect.
    (2)If a customer requests deletion of personal information, and if our company determines that it is necessary to respond to the request, we will confirm that the request is from the person himself/herself, delete personal information and notify them to that effect.
    (3)The provisions of the preceding two paragraphs do not apply if our company is not obligated to correct, etc. or suspend use, etc., under the Personal Information Protection Law or other laws and regulations.

  22.   7. Fees and payment methods for requests for disclosure, etc.
  8. For requests for disclosure of personal information and notification of purpose of use, we will charge the following amount per request. Please enclose a fixed-amount postal note for the following amount when mailing the billing documents.
    Fee: 1,000 yen
    How we respond to "request for disclosure, etc."
    We will respond in writing (sealed letter) to the address of the person on the request form or by a method that has been agreed with the person.
    Personal information acquired in connection with a "request for disclosure, etc." will be handled only to the extent necessary to respond to the request for disclosure, etc.
    In the following cases, we may not be able to respond to a "request for disclosure, etc." In that case, we will notify you of that effect and the reason. In addition, please understand that you will be required to bear the actual cost even in the case of non-disclosure.
    (1)When the identity of the person or representative cannot be verified
    (2)When application documents does not met the prescribed criteria
    (3)When the subject of the request for disclosure, etc. does not correspond to "retained personal data" (*described below)
    (4)When there is a risk of harming the life, body, property or other rights and interests of the individual or a third party
    (5)When there is a risk of significant hindrance to the proper implementation of our business
    (6)When it violates laws and regulations
    Retained personal data is personal information that constitutes a systematic collection of information, and for which the Company has the authority to respond to all requests for disclosure, correction, deletion, suspension of use, and suspension of provision to third parties requested by the person in question. However, it does not fall under the category of retained personal data if it falls under any of the following.
    1. Information that may cause harm to the life, body, or property of the individual or a third party due to the existence of the personal information being clarified.
    2. Items that may promote or induce illegal or unfair acts by revealing the existence of the personal information.
    3. If the existence of the personal information becomes clear, there is a risk that national security may be harmed, a relationship of trust with other countries or international organizations may be impaired, or there may be a risk of being disadvantaged in negotiations with other countries or international organizations. 
    4. The disclosure of the existence or non-existence of the personal information may interfere with the prevention, suppression or investigation of crimes, as well as the maintenance of public safety and order.
